Our Sustainability Promise

Inspired by the natural beauty and stillness of our island home, we are taking mindful steps toward a more sustainable future. For the good of our planet, our community, and the place we proudly call home; the Isle of Harris.

While we know we are not perfect, we are on a journey to do better. We make considered choices wherever we can to tread a little lighter and to do our part.

Sustainable Materials

Natural Soy Wax

Our wax-based products are made with natural soy wax, a biodegradable, renewable material derived from soybeans. Often seen as a more eco-conscious option than traditional waxes.

Sustainability Initiatives

Refill Station

Together we can make small steps to reduce our impact on the planet, that is why we offer in-store refills for our Bath & Body bottles. Once you’ve finished your bath and body bottle simply give it a rinse, bring it back and one of our friendly team will refill it for you in-store. It's that easy! Add details on availability, style.

Refillable Products

For customers based further afield, our Hand & Body Wash and Reed Diffusers are available in refill formats, making it easier to top up at home while making a more sustainable choice. So you can use your original bottle or vessel time and time again, helping to cut down on single-use waste.

Reduce . Reuse . Recycle

We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment. From cutting down on plastic to offering thoughtful ways for you to refill, reuse or repurpose, we want to make sustainable choices easier for everyone.

Many of our candle vessels find new life as vases or trinket holders, and all of our products are recyclable. We use recycled materials wherever possible, and we continue to look for ways to improve.

Carbon Footprint

We are working hard to reduce our carbon footprint, not just through our product range but in the way we operate as a business. Our factory and shop in Tarbert is powered entirely by renewable energy. We have also removed all plastic from our web orders, replacing it with recyclable cardboard and biodegradable packing peanuts.

We aim to reduce transport-related emissions by limiting shipments to and from the island, and by choosing low-impact delivery options wherever available.

Rooted in Community

Living and working on the Isle of Harris gives us a deep sense of responsibility, not only to the land but also to our community and the people who live here. Career opportunities on the island have long been limited, and traditionally many young people have had to leave to find work. In recent years, this has been changing and we want to be at the forefront of that change.

We are proud to employ a growing, all-female team, with over 60% of our staff based right here on the island and as our business grows, so too will the opportunities we can offer our local community.
