Introducing the story of Adru!

Last week, we released the first candle and diffuser from our Elements Range, Adru. As always, we have been absolutely delighted with everyone’s positivity about the new release, and we thought we’d share a little bit more about the inspiration and meaning of our new candle and diffuser with you all.  The Name Many of you might be wondering why we chose to name our new candle and diffuser, Adru. The name is that first given to the Isle of Harris, discovered on an ancient map, by Greek astrologer and geographer Ptolemy. The rich history which embodies the name Adru made for the perfect match for our dark, mysterious and rugged new scent of Sandalwood and Wild Nettle.  The Scent...

Tartan tales

Countdown to the new release! If you’ve been following along with our social channels as of late, you’ll be aware that something exciting is happening at the Essence of Harris workshop next week- we’re releasing a brand-new candle and diffuser, which we think you’ll love. Although, we might be slightly biased... Our new range, the Elements Collection, has been a project close to our hearts and the first scent of the collection will be available from Monday 8th October! The new scent, available in a 20cl candle and a diffuser, will have packaging which incorporates our bespoke Essence of Harris tartan and the fragrance will be hand-poured into a sophisticated, black glass. Celebration of our young people!

And so, the September rush has started. The final days of summer often brings with it a mix of feelings; dread for those 8am alarm bells are balanced with the hope of fresh starts, new beginnings and a focus on the ‘school year’ ahead. At Essence of Harris, September has started off with a celebration of our young people. As we waved our Graphic Design intern Molly off on the ferry across the Minch, we reflected on the 3 months she had spent working on the island and the invaluable work she completed on her Scotgrad summer placement at Essence of Harris. Things to do on the Isle of Harris

Recently, Jamie was interviewed by Holiday Scottish Highlands and Islands on his very favourite aspects of living on the Isle of Harris. Highland Business Awards- finalists!

  On Friday 28th September, the prestigious Highland Business Awards will be held in Inverness, an award ceremony dedicated to recognising the achievements and talents of businesses in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.. We’re delighted to announce that Essence of Harris has been nominated for two awards this year- Outstanding Performing Small Business, and Best Newcomer to Exporting!  With over 100 entries from companies throughout the region, we were over the moon to have been acknowledged by the awards committee, and to have been chosen amongst such a wonderful bunch of businesses to be in the top 3 in each of the two categories.
