With Year of the Young People 2018 (#YOYP2018) bringing to light how talented our younger generation of workers are, we couldn’t think of a better time to welcome some new creative minds on board the Essence of Harris team!

On a Scotgrad summer placement with Essence of Harris, the fantastic Molly will be the brand’s in-house Graphic Designer. Molly will be getting creative with website design and innovation, as well as creating online campaigns for different events throughout the year. She’ll use her tech-whizz skills to produce some brand new advertising for Essence of Harris, and we can’t wait to see what she comes up with!

To let you get to know her a little bit better, here are a few words from Molly herself:

“I study Product Design Engineering at Glasgow University and the Glasgow School of Art where I enjoy using my creative and technical interests to bring innovative products to market, and so I’m excited to be a part of such a creative forward thinking brand. I’m also very much looking forward to immersing myself into the welcoming community and exploring the natural beauty that Harris has to offer!”

Just as Molly arrives onto the island, we’ve been making some other changes to our team here on Harris. You may have all heard us talk about the wonderful Rebekah, who has been providing a warm Hebridean welcome to passer-by’s in our shop on Tarbert Main Street. Rebekah will now split her time between the shop and the Essence of Harris production unit, where she will be working on the new range of Essence of Harris bubble baths and liquid hand soaps, soon to be available! The new range of bath products is something which we are so excited to release to the public, and we're delighted we've got Rebekah on hand to get them all out to you sooner!

Whilst Rebekah works away experimenting in the ‘Bubbles Production’ room, Clare, another local lass, has joined the Essence of Harris team for the summer months to head the shop on the Main Street- providing local knowledge and candle info to all those visiting the island. Like Molly, Clare spends her time studying in Glasgow throughout the rest of the year, and is due to enter into her second year of Marine Biology in September!

From Graphic Designers, to Biologists and Bubble Mixers- we’re so excited to see how the Essence of Harris brand grows with the help of these three talented young people on board!
