Recently we’ve bid farewell to the lovely Cat, who’s been with us for the last two years while Buth Bheag Candle Co has grown from strength to strength. She’s always been infectiously passionate about our brand so we’re sorry to see her go! Cat is embarking on a new career as a teacher but remaining in the islands so we’ll keep in close contact and wish her all the best for the future.

As we say an emotional cheerio to Cat, we welcome the lovely Beth to our team on the 11^th Sept 2017. Beth is our latest recruit and we’re excited to have her on board as we look to the launch of our rebranded Essence of Harris range. Beth’s a recent university graduate and having studied International Relations at the University of Edinburgh is going to be a real asset to our team as we start to look into export projects.

Here’s a few words from Beth so you can get to know her a bit better!

"I grew up in Ireland, dividing my time between Belfast, and the rugged west coast of County Donegal. The hustle and bustle of city living provided me with some really amazing times growing up, but I have always been happiest when living beside the sea (just one of the many reasons why moving to Harris appealed to me so much!). While studying in Edinburgh for the last four years, I have been lucky enough to explore the unique scenery and culture which Scotland boasts; working on a whale-watching boat on the Isle of Mull and spending some time working with MSPs in the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.

Harris, however, provides me with a completely new and exciting opportunity. I am most looking forward to learning how the company works from people who know what they're talking about! The close-knit environment within both the company, and Harris itself, provides me with the perfect opportunity to get my head around business on both a local and national scale.
