Buth Bheag Candle Co have been hand-pouring our candles, reed diffusers and wax melts for over two years and we’re really proud to say that we’ve grown from our humble beginnings to now work with 33 stockists and run two of our own shops.

The growth that we’ve seen in such a short period of time has pushed us towards some rather exciting developments for our family run company here on Harris. If you follow us on social media, you’ll have noticed we’ve been out on the road across Scotland with our rather snazzy branded mini. It’s sparked a lot of intrigue as our followers see ‘Essence of Harris’ rather than the well-known ‘Buth Bheag Candle Co’ branding.

These changes have come about as we realise those that don’t speak Gaelic find it a little tricky to pronounce Buth Bheag (Gaelic for ‘wee shop’) so we’re excited to announce that we’re in the process of rebranding to Essence of Harris. We’ll officially launch our new brand at the end of September but wanted to give you a little flavour of what’s to come!

As well as the name change, our new product packaging is striking, bright and elemental to reflect the romance, charm and authenticity of the beautiful Isle of Harris. Rock, sea, sand and flame – be sure to sign up to our e-newsletter as we share more in the coming weeks!
