What a team we’ve got here at our candle factory on the Isle of Harris. It's thanks to this little lot that we've achieved so much over the last couple of years. Recently, they've been heavily involved in the transformation of our brand from Buth Bheag Candle Co to Essence of Harris so it’s about time that we introduced them to you!
Jamie and Deenie set up Buth Bheag Candle Company in 2015 and they’re just delighted with how it’s thrived ever since. Can you believe they first started out simply experimenting with pouring different scents in their kitchen and now they’re successfully running two shops and producing for stockists across the UK? Having recently undertaken a rebrand project, the pair are excited to launch Essence of Harris this autumn!

Josie is a local lass, having known Deenie since childhood and involved with Essence of Harris for over a year. She’s one of the team working behind the scenes to ensure that production of candles meets the increasing demand. It’s incredible to watch Josie taking great care throughout the process to ensure the hand poured scents leave the factory looking perfect for customers!
Kirsty joined the company six months ago so it’s been all go since she stepped through the door with the rebrand a main focus for the team. We tuned in to Kirsty working with Josie to trim the wicks and label the glass candles which were poured and left to cool the night before.
Last but not least, here’s Beth. You’ll have perhaps read about Beth joining the team as a recent graduate. She’s settling in really well on the island and excited to see the rebrand come to life. As the team receive request for products overseas, Beth is on the case to ensure Essence of Harris is ready to export. The new markets include USA, China and beyond!
Essence of Harris products reach shelves in shops from next week onwards! Soon we'll share some photos and introduce you to our retail team. They do a grand job of finding the right scent to suit our customers senses.
