On Friday 28th September, the prestigious Highland Business Awards will be held in Inverness, an award ceremony dedicated to recognising the achievements and talents of businesses in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland..
We’re delighted to announce that Essence of Harris has been nominated for two awards this year- Outstanding Performing Small Business, and Best Newcomer to Exporting! With over 100 entries from companies throughout the region, we were over the moon to have been acknowledged by the awards committee, and to have been chosen amongst such a wonderful bunch of businesses to be in the top 3 in each of the two categories.
Each day, every Essence of Harris staff member commits their efforts to help the business run smoothly and efficiently; from candle-pouring to product design and marketing to stock-takes. It’s no easy feat but as with any small business, everyone plays a role, and each role is vital to allow Essence of Harris to flourish both on and off-island.
One of the most complicated jobs as of late was the lengthy journey into exporting internationally. After months of research and meetings, we feel such pride in the fact that customers far and near can open their Essence of Harris package, and discover a little piece of the Hebrides, wherever they might be. Little did we know that three years on we would be recognised for our efforts within the Highland Business community, and we feel very privileged to be acknowledged for something that we absolutely love doing.
A big thank you to Inverness Chamber for the advice and guidance over the years, and for organising such a fantastic event. We’ve got our fingers crossed for the big day!
